We hope to see you there!

Cancer Center Tour

The McGill Students’ Cancer Society is organizing a tour of the Rosalind & Morris Goodman Cancer Center – you know, the glass building you pass on your way to McIntyre! This is an excellent opportunity to learn what kind of research goes on behind those glass walls, to learn more about cancer research, to find out about graduate training opportunities at the Cancer Centre, and to find out what the money raised for cancer research is doing!

We can take 16 students MAX so if you are interested, please sign up ASAP!

Date: Thursday, March 15th Time: 3:30pm – 5pm

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at cancer.society@mcgill.ca!

2012!

Happy new year everyone!
We hope you all had a great break and we can’t wait to continue our success this semester!
Similar to last year, we have many events planned to raise both awareness and funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.
So please pay attention to our ListServ and lets make cancer history!

Luminaries

Shave to save was a success, despite the rain! We raised over $200 and had more than 12 people donate over 10″ of hair! Thank-you to all the people who came out to support us, always appreciated!

Our next event is Wednesday, October 19th–Luminaries! This event is taken directly from the annual Canadian Cancer Society event called “Relay for Life”. Candles will be sold at the crossroads on all day from 9am-5pm, they can be purchased either, ‘In memory of” or ‘In honour of.’  The luminaries will then be lit at dusk, when the full effect of the light is clear. We will have a musician come play at this time.

Looking forward to see you all then, goodluck on midterms & assignments!

Shave to Save is Almost Here!

Shave to Save!

Coming up Thursday is the first McGill Students’ Cancer Society event of the year! Be sure to join us at the Crossroads for Shave to Save! Come down for a haircut, to donate your long locks, to shave other people’s heads or if you’re brave enough to get your own head shaven! We promise it will be an event to remember, so come down and check us out! (Even if you don’t want to cut your own hair, it will still be worth attending!)

See you all there!
