CUSID Women’s Tournament Results

The McGill Debating Union was host to the first CUSID Women’s Tournament, and its continued success is important to us. This past weekend, three teams from McGill demonstrated their excellent debating prowess. The all-novice team of Diane Shnier & Alyna Poremba were Semifinalists, as were Allison Render & Victoria Lee. Lauren Shadley & Emma O’Rourke-Friel made their way to Finals, while McGill’s Gretchen McCulloch, hybriding with Amelia McLeod, took home the title of champion. Emma was the tournament’s 4th speaker, Gretchen came in 6th and Lauren was 10th.

OCTOBER 22
Our High School training seminar will be meeting in room B30 of the SSMU Building at noon and will run until 5PM in the McLennan Library.

OCTOBER 26–27
This Friday and Saturday we will be hosting the 53rd annual McGill High School Debating Championship! If you're debating, get excited; if you're a member of the Union, make sure to come out and judge!

NOVEMBER 2–4
We're heading to Kingston for the Chancellor's Cup at Queen's! You can sign up online or come to meetings for more information as we get closer to the first weekend of November.

NOVEMBER 9–11
We'll be in Ottawa for the Father Roger Guindon Cup. This is an excellent chance for second-year debaters to gain experience, as they're paired with senior pros. Stay tuned for more information!
