Back from hiatus, Carleton’s Dorchester Cup returned with a vengeance. Featuring not only Opp-Choice cases, but also challenge-style outrounds, the tournament harked back to the revered tournament of old. This format proved little challenge for McGill, as our resident jabronis Calvin Rosemond & Cole Bricker proposed an exceptional finals case, while McGill’s Natalya Slepneva (hybriding with Murphy O’Connor) took home the the title of champion. Alex Amar & Howard Cohen, as well as Joe Bricker (hybriding with Scott Killian Clark) made it to Quarterfinals. Natalya was the tournament’s 4th speaker, Cole was 7th (and top novice), Joe 8th, and Cal 10th.

Our High School training seminar will be meeting in room B30 of the SSMU Building at noon and will run until 5PM in the McLennan Library.

OCTOBER 26–27
This Friday and Saturday we will be hosting the 53rd annual McGill High School Debating Championship! If you're debating, get excited; if you're a member of the Union, make sure to come out and judge!

NOVEMBER 2–4
We're heading to Kingston for the Chancellor's Cup at Queen's! You can sign up online or come to meetings for more information as we get closer to the first weekend of November.

NOVEMBER 9–11
We'll be in Ottawa for the Father Roger Guindon Cup. This is an excellent chance for second-year debaters to gain experience, as they're paired with senior pros. Stay tuned for more information!
