Rubeen Virani

Hey guys! My name is Rubeen Virani and I am in my 4th year, finishing up my BSc. in Honors Anatomy and Cell Biology with a minor in Economics. Like many of you, I am far away from my home town (LA, California), but MISA has made sure that I never felt that void. MISA and the people I have met through the group have pushed me to become an active member in so many new things like hockey, dance, choir, social events and fundraisers. As Co-President this year, my biggest goal is to get all of you involved, whether it be through sports, volunteering in the community, or anything else. We will be creating the opportunities you need to make your time here memorable and successful. Looking forward to having great conversations and making crazy memories with all of you this year!

Hi, my name is Ahsan Bandeali and I am your Co-President for MISA! I am in my third year of a BSc. Nursing program at McGill. My goal for MISA this year is to take it to the next level, whether it be with sports, social events, academics, or volunteering; I want to expand and include everything under MISA. I will do my best to make MISA your second home, and to create the best experience possible for all of you! Hi everyone, my name is Khalid and I’m in my second year at McGill doing a major in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Management. I’m your VP finance on MISA this year and my role will be to manage finances in MISA as well as to organize the annual Ski Trip held in January. For those of  you who don’t know me yet, you’ll probably identify me as the guy that always going to be running after you for payments to our MISA events. Hey there! My name’s Amaar and I’ll be your VP Academic. I’m a second year McGill student studying Ecological Determinants of Health with a minor in Management. I’ll be in charge of planning all academic-based events and workshops, setting up the upper-year Buddy Program, and the Exam Bank that will be available to all students. Hey! My name is Tahreen Mohamed and I'm in my third year of a BSc. Nursing program at Mcgill. This is my second year on MISA as VP external and my role is to organize events such as laser tag and the end of the year banquet. I am also hoping to implement a Community Outreach Program starting in September. To all the first years who don't know me yet you may think I'm really weird and crazy but please don't feel shy to come ask me for help if you need anything! I'm super super excited to be part of the MISA team again and can't wait until next year, its going to be AMAZING!!!

Hey, my name is Zach Jiwa and I am your VP Athletics for the 2011-2012 year. I am currently in my third year at McGill and I am majoring in Kinesiology. I am originally from Vancouver and I hope to one day pursue a career in sports medicine. I love sports, mostly soccer and hockey. My name is Jenna Kara and I will be your VP Communications for the 2011-2012 year.  As VP Communications my job is to...well communicate!!  I’ll be handling things including announcements, the MISA monthly newsletter, and the Facebook page.  I will be helping promote MISA events as well as be here to take any suggestions you might have to the rest of the Exec Team.  Whether it is spamming your Inbox or working behind the scenes, you will definitely be seeing me around so don’t be a stranger.  Looking forward to a great year!!

Hi Montréalers and Montréalers to be,

I will be your ISA Advisor representing the AKYSB team on MISA this year. I am a U3 Biochemistry major at McGill University. I hope to pursue Biotechnology or Public Health in the future. There are two simple facts about me, I cannot live without tennis, and I can drink coke with ketchup. Yep, the latter is true. This year is going to be a lot of fun advising MISA and helping them out with their events. My job is to see everything in MISA is coordinated well with the AKYSB. I’m excited about the new academic year and meeting the old and new members alike. our aim is to bring MISA to a whole new level this year, and I can say, we are on track. Woooot MISA!
