Dr J. B. Debruille, associate professor with the Department of Psychiatry of McGill University, is looking for pairs of participants for a psychology study.
These pairs should consist of two friends, who are right-handed, very close, and who have known each other for at least 3 years. Each member of the pair should be between 18 and 30 years of age, with at least a college level of education (completed or in process), and have no history of neurological or psychological illness.
Both partners will be coming to the Douglas hospital for an experiment that lasts 3-4 hours. This experiment involves the recording of the brain’s electrical activity while participants complete simple computer tasks.
Each participant will be compensated $13/hour plus $6 for transportation purposes.
When arriving at the laboratory, a series of questionnaires will be administered to ensure that the participants are truly close friends. If the participants fail these friendship questionnaires, the experiment will not go on and there will be no compensation.
