About Us

Medical Perspectives (or MedSpecs) is a McGill undergraduate organization that maintains a supportive community for students who are curious about medical careers to access information, exchange ideas, and gain experience first-hand. Our community is founded upon the guiding principle that it is not important whether you are certain about a career in medicine, but rather, that ample resources should be available so that all students can make an educated decision about their future. 

We feel very strongly that in order to know whether a career in medicine is best suited to you, an understanding of the day to day occurrences in the lives of professionals and trainees is crucial. To address this need, our organization has partnered with the McGill University Health Center (MUHC) system of hospitals to offer the physician shadowing program and professional speaker series. In addition, we invite fellow students, medical students, career advisors, and other experts to speak at our events. 

With the support of our wonderful members, professors and affiliates, MedSpecs has achieved amazing success in its inaugural year. To help familiarize you with whom we are and what we have done, we have compiled a list of our past events for your convenience. And of course, we would absolutely love to hear what you want to see us accomplish in the future! 

To better serve the McGill community and to fulfill our holistic vision about career awareness, MedSpecs intends to provide resources not only for careers in medicine, but also for all fields within the health care industry.
