Guitar Beginner I

Have you always wanted to master this instrument but never got the chance? Bought a guitar, but ditched the idea when you saw the price of private lessons? Our extremely popular Guitar class is the solution, here’s your chance to learn all those popular songs that you love to sing to. If you don’t have one then use your roommate’s guitar and learn to play at a fraction of the price of private lessons!

Intermediate Drawing

Instructor: Genevieve Sideleau

This intermediate drawing class is designed for the student who already has a grasp of basic drawing techniques and skills. During these sessions, the student will develop these skills further through various exercises. Students will be introduced to working with oil pastels, graphite and drawing with an eraser as we investigate landscape and portrait drawing.

For our first class you only need to bring a sketchbook, a pencil and a set of oil pastels. Be comfortable and I don’t recommend you wear nice clothes for this art class.

You will need:

1- Sketchbook ( acid free paper, larger is better no smaller than 11″ x 14″)

2- Oil pastels (does not need to be expensive but the more colors the better)

3- Set of H and B graphite pencils (or you can pick a few 9B, 6B, 3B, HB, 3H, 6H, 9H)

4- 3 compressed charcoal in stick form (not in pencil form)

5- Sharpener

6- Scissor or exacto knife

7- 1 Artgum eraser,1 kneaded eraser and one white regular eraser

Intro to drawing

Ever drawn a smiley face on a foggy window?? Ever doodle on your notebook during a boring lecture?? Then you have all the pre-requisites and practice for our Intro to Sketch class! Whether you’ve never drawn a day in your life or you’re the next Da Vinci, this class is the perfect weekly breath of fresh air. From week to week you will learn different drawing techniques, as well as work on your own individual projects. This is the perfect place to let your imagination flow!

For the first class you will only need the 2 first items on the list, this also gives you a bit more time to get the rest of the material. Be comfortable and don’t wear nice clothes as you may draw on the floor.

2- 1 HB pencil

3- Set of H and B graphite pencils (or you can pick a few 9B, 6B, 3B, HB, 3H, 6H, 9H)

4- 2 Contés in pencil or stick form (sanguine, sepia, gray, any neutral except for black)

5- 1 Large pad of newsprint (I cannot remember the size but around 22″ X 28″ or 24″ X 30″)

6- Sharpener

7- 1 Artgum eraser and 1 kneaded eraser

Watercolour Explorations: Creative Mixed Media Painting

Discover your hidden artistic talents with this true beginner’s course. Through hands-on demonstrations, individual guidance, and peer inspiration, explore creative colour, brushwork, and composition. Introduce yourself to the enjoyment of a creative practice through experimenting with a mixed media toolbox of watercolour paints and pencils, sumi ink, chalk pastel, and collage. No previous experience is required to begin painting with this direct, expressive approach.
