Strategic Summits

This year, the SSMU is testing out a new forum for bringing students together to discuss important campus issues and help the provide the SSMU with the mandate to implement the changes McGill’s downtown undergraduates want.

Strategic Summits aim to:

  • Get everyone on the same page
  • Hash out the major issues and challenges
  • Brainstorm ways forward
  • Decide the direction we want

Each event provides coffee and sandwiches.

Are you concerned that decisions that affect your experience at McGill are made without sufficient student input? Do you have ideas about how students can be better consulted?

Student Consultation has been a particularly hot topic since the closure of the Architecture Cafe last year. Now we’re trying to develop a clear plan from students on how we want student consultation to be implemented at McGill.

Come share your perspectives, hear from your peers, and identify the key success and challenges that McGill undergrads are facing when it comes to being consulted on the issues that affect us. Together we will plan how to address the challenges—and then your elected representatives will be responsible for implementing the plans you devise!

How would you like to be consulted at McGill about the Administration’s decisions?
Do you trust McGill to consult you when their decisions affect you?
Do you trust SSMU to consult you when our decisions affect you?
What types of campus issues do you think it is most important for students to be consulted on?
