The SSMU Volunteer Service was created to make it easier for McGill students to find volunteer opportunities in their city. As such, we have created an online database of organizations in Montreal that have volunteer opportunities available. On the database, you will find pertinent information such as organizations’ objectives, job descriptions, volunteer requirements, and contact information.

We are also aware that not everybody can commit to volunteering on a weekly basis. As such, on the Volunteer Events page you can find short-term volunteer opportunities. This page is updated on a weekly basis so if you don’t find an organization or event you are interested in working for, please check back at another time.

If you are an organization, please register here.

The Fall Volunteer Fair will occur on September 19th, 2017 from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm in the SSMU Ballroom! Come out and meet many of the volunteer organizations around Montreal to learn about how you can volunteer with them!

You’ll be able to chat with organizations ranging from hospitals, to schools, to animal shelters and many more!

If you have any questions or suggestions, do not hesitate to contact us!

If you are unsure if you want to volunteer, please consider the following benefits you gain from giving to your community:

Adding to your resume
Exploring an industry of interest
Networking and meeting new people
Discovering an interest or hobby
Having fun while doing something meaningful!
