We now have a special Solin service which reduces the wait time for Solin walks to just a few minutes! Give us a call and our volunteers will meet you at the metro or walk you from campus.

Walksafe is a free, volunteer-operated call service that provides accompaniment for individuals who do not wish to walk or take public transportation home alone at night. Throughout the fall and winter semesters, our services are available:
9AM until 3AM on Friday and Saturday.
And until 12 AM on every other day of the week!
During these times, anyone at all, for any reason at all, can be accompanied on their walk or use of public transit (we do buses and the metro!) by two volunteer walkers. As long as your destination is on the island of Montreal, we will walk you! :)
If a club, service, faculty organization, or association such as a residence council is operating a special event and would like additional Walksafe coverage, such as extra teams or extended operating hours, we are happy to provide this service at no cost, provided we receive at least two weeks advance notice about the location and time of the event and expected number of attendees. If that sounds like something your group would like to have, contact us at executive@walksafe.ca
Note: Due to the volunteer nature of our service, Walksafe is closed during exam periods and during the summer semester (May–August). During these times, or outside of our operating hours during regular service, anyone walking a short distance from campus should contact McGill Security Services at (514) 398-3000, which is a free call from campus phones.
